Most people don't know that there were warheads found and there were chemical agents found ready to be put into those warheads. Saddam had been committing genocide on the Kurds with chemical weapons for years. The actual intelligence flaw was that some sources said Saddam had an active NBC program, even though the Israelis had bombed his nuclear program years before. Senators could see the logic behind invading Iraq. The average American is too stupid to see the logic. Thus Bush gave WMDs as the reason for war, knowing no active program would be found. The senators that blame Bush for everything are the real scum here, saying they voted to go to war only because of WMDs. These are informed, intelligent people that knew full well what they were getting into. Some people say Iraq is a failure. I say it is a success. The real point of invading Iraq was not to help it. Any Arab from one of the surrounding countries will tell you the people in the area of Iraq will always be at war. The only reason they weren't under Saddam was because he was oppressive. The US removed the oppressor, war broke out, and now all the terrorists flock to Iraq to join the cause of killing the infidel, which essentially is anyone not of their Islamic sect. Hence, Iraq was invaded as a policy of containment (of terrorists). This was after all part of the War on Terror, and terrorist attacks have indeed receded. One could argue about the attacks on Israel, but that is native people attempting to drive foreigners out of their native land, not terrorists. That is war.
