Democrats don't force anyone to get an abortion or marry same sex. They, like Jesus, are pro-free will. Jesus had every right as a jewish male in good standing to stone the woman at the well for breaking the law. ADULTERY mandated the death penalty, but jesus was never about laws, or enforcing morality through them. He would have been against abortion, but he would never have tried to make laws restricting a persons right to choose...from right or wrong. Democrats are as sorely wrong with gun control as Republicans are with prop. 8, but that's another topic. Sadly, most fundamentalist Christians today are almost exactly like the sadducees and pharisees of the day, they are in love with God's letters and laws more than the spirit of his love. They know how to read the Bible, but they don't know how to live it. Show me the angry Jesus that looks anything like the Dobsons and Fallwells and Republicans of today. He shows up once, to tear up the temple that made a mockery of God's will: Love, grace and mercy. Ponder the following, if Jesus materialized today, what would he look like? What would he smell like? Probably a homeless dude. Who would he chose to eat dinner with? Probably a crack dealer, gangster rapper or, quite possibly, Rush Limbaugh. The physician kicks it with the ill, not the well. Too many Christians living in their bubble. If your church doesn't have at least one person who smells kind of funny or makes distracting and inappropriate noises throughout the service, you might want to look around and ask yourself, what WOULD Jesus do.
