I call myself a Republican, but I don't really agree with a lot of their policies (capital punishment being one of them). I supported McCain in the election and while I think that he could have done a better job, Obama is our president and as Americans we have an obligation to wish him the best because what he does directly effects us - why should we want the leader of the free world to fail? That being said, about Bush - I think the past eight years have been stressful and hard on everyone. But hello - a 18 months into his presidency, he had to deal with a major terrorist attack. Later, he had economic crisis and so many other major events to deal with. I think that he did the best that he could with what he was given. Also - if he was so damn "unpopular" how the hell did he get reelected in '04? Hmm? Because so few people thought he managed to run things pretty well the first four years? Really? Is that how it happened? OK. Just checking.
