"Fairey started BLK/MRKT Inc. from 1997-2003 which specialised in guerilla marketing, and "the development of high-impact marketing campaigns". Clients included Pepsi, Hasbro and Netscape (for whom Fairey designed the red dinosaur version of mozilla.org's logo and mascot)." He has also accepted commissions from corporations such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Starbucks and many Los Angeles fashion boutiques. Here's an article of deeply researched charges that Fairey plagiarized & profited from other artists www.art-for-a-change.com/Obey/index.htm In an interview in Mother Jones, Fairey has the balls to complain about Urban Outfitters jacking a star design. Saying, "One of the reasons I started my clothing line was because I went into an Urban Outfitters and they were bootlegging my star logo on T-shirts. To see it in there, just ripped off, was definitely upsetting to me, because I was still totally broke at the time. And the reason I get pissed off about stuff like that is because I didn't build up the resonance for that image just to hand it off to someone to exploit." www.motherjones.com/interview/2008/03/intervi ew-shepard-f... Of course the other reasons were based solely on turning a profit from appropriated images of struggle
